Skating for Children – 12/12/2009
Queens Ice Theatre had children in mind when it was decided to hold an exhibition skate for charity.
Throughout the year both children and some adult skaters have competed at rinks around the UK and some in France, Canada and Estonia. The skaters have put in a lot of hard work and so decided to mount a Christmas show in aid of the NSPCC.
The mothers prepared the ground by holding a cake sale, a raffle and a sale of assorted skating gear in the morning.
Almost £2,500 was raised from the sale and the show, so congratulations and thanks to everyone who gave of their time to make the 2009 charity evening such a huge success – to the skaters, the mums for organising the sale and to the many many spectators who gave so generously.
A very merry Christmas to everyone and a happy and prosperous New Year!
